After a 15 year drought, Baltimore’s own Natural Bohemian came back to Baltimore in keg form. Natty Boh, as the beer is known locally, is a Baltimore icon and a huge well-known part of Baltimore’s heritage. (For more history on the heritage, see this Baltimore Sun article)
Jules and I attended one of the six keg tapping’s across the city on Thursday at a bar called Don’t Know Tavern in Fed Hill. We sat down to enjoy some of the delicious food that Don’t Know is known for and try Natty Boh on tap for the first time in our lives.

As with any beer in a different “format”,(Corona in a can anyone?) the beer tasted a bit different from I was expecting, but the beer still tasted great. I am happy that the beer is back in draft form as I feel it will be even more consumed even more across the city and the country. Hopefully production of the beer will eventually return to the Baltimore area, but in light of the Pepsi plant closure due to the beverage bottle tax, I fear that day won’t come for a while.
