Where Did I Park My Spaceship?

Ryan: “Dude, there is no BBQ in Iowa.” Me:”Really?”

Jules and I are currently sitting outside in the (very) nice weather in Downtown(ish) Des Moines, Iowa. Our drive has been great so far today, even though we were unable to locate the (partially built) Starship Enterprise. (If you don’t get the reference, watch the J.J. Abrams reboot of the franchise)

We just finished eating a (massive for me) meal at Jethro‘s BBQ. If you are a Man Vs. Food fan, you may remember Jethro’s as one of the challenges that Adam wasn’t able to do. The challenge is so unbelievably ridiculous that its amazing that someone COULD do it.

I wasn’t going to attempt that.

Instead, I decided to try what seemed to be much smaller- the Jethro “sandwich”. It wasn’t. In fact, it was one of the largest things I’ve EVER seen in front of me.

But boy was it TASTY.  While I was unable (obviously?) to finish it, it was some of the best BBQ I’ve had to date and definitely the best on the trip so far.  If you are ever in Des Moines, Iowa and have a hankering for BBQ- this is your place.

It was enormous.
