You know in the movies where there is a explosion nearby someone and all they hear is ringing? Yup.
Let’s just say the AAA that we signed up for before our trip was totally worth it.
We noticed something was up this morning when we got a low tire pressure warning within 30 minutes of starting out. We pulled into a very remote gas station to top off the pressure. It didn’t stay pressurized for long and within minutes of getting back on the road, our low pressure light went back on. We made a quick U turn and headed back to the gas station to check things out.
Once we were there we realized we needed a new tire and fast. So, we pulled the fix a flat out of the trunk that came with the car. After unloading the contents and driving the car in a slow loop,I squatted down to top off the air.
That’s when I blew up the tire and probably damaged my eardrum in the process. A massive bang happen and the tire went flat in under a second. Jules, who was in the car at the time, had no clue what happened. She rushed out of the car to see me crawling away and clutching my ears.
After that, we called AAA and got a tow back to a tire place in Cedar City. We had a new tire placed on there and got quite a deal on a full sized spare which we picked up as well. However, since that took up our whole morning, we had to plan a new/quicker route.
That route happened to take us through the desert and Las Vegas. No kidding!
