I have a sneaky suspicion that I’m turning into a “foodie”. Or as my friend Karl would say, “a food blogger”.
Last weekend Jules and I met up with an old friend from Ithaca College, Karl. Karl and I met through one of my classes in my minor ( Outdoor Recreation). We kept in touch over the years as Karl is much more of a world traveler than I am.
He was one of the onlyย people who got back to me when I announced my move out to the west coast. He called me up and mentioned a BBQ and Blues festival that going on in Redwood City. I hadn’t seen him in half a decade, so I was excited to meet up again.
We took the Caltrain up from our place in Sunnyvale and met up in downtown Redwood. It was an awesome place that was packed full of people. They had bands rotating on the stage every hour, and BBQ stands everywhere. The smells that were wafting down the street were heavenly.
The food was delicious and I enjoyed the wonderful flavors that danced on my tongue. Seeing Karl after 6 years or so was great as well. It was almost like I saw him a couple of months ago- he looked exactly the same as I remember in early 2006. (That’s a bit crazy to write)
The food was great! Seeing Karl was a nice blast from the past- he hadn’t changed at all since I saw him last in early 2006.
