Last weekend Jules and I decided to explore somewhere new.
We decided to check out downtown San Mateo, which was different from I was expecting. Similar to Burlingame or Redwood City, the main drag had a huge variety of places to eat and drink but was quieter. By happenstance, we came across a wine/coffee bar (called Kaffeehaus) that had Dogfish Punkin Ale (which is insanely hard to find out on the west coast and something we had been searching for)! I also discovered a local bubble tea place that is actually a brand in Asia as well.
We ended up having dinner at Kingfish – a cool place with an eclectic decoration scheme. We had some wonderful entrees there! Their wine selection is huge- even offering a bottle of ‘85 port for upwards of $225!
As with all the places that we have seen in the Bay Area, exploring while (further) learning my 1D Mk II has been a ton of fun!
