#projectfilm Time Capsule – Cleveland Metroparks & Squaw Rock
In this edition of the #projectfilm time capsule series, we go back in time almost a year to when Jules, Claude, Bekah, and I explored the Cleveland Metroparks (specifically Squaw Rock) with the trusty AE-1. While my AE-1 wasn’t the only camera with me (a fact that shouldn’t shock you), it was this roll that…

#projectfilm Time Capsule – Baker Beach, California
In a new (and admittedly overdue) #projectfilm update, I have recently developed an ISO400 roll of Kodak film that was from my time in California. It was partially shot during my Baker Beach photowalk and partially around San Francisco with friends later (Dolores Park and the surrounding BART station).

Small Beginnings
So the day of my biggest road trip to date (Sea to Sea 2012) has finally arrived! I’m writing this post from Jellybean as we are cruising down I-70 headed to our destination of Cleveland, Ohio. Attached to the roof of Jellybean is a GoPro HERO2 that I’ve rented from BorrowLenses. It’s set up to…

Forced Nudity
A couple of weeks ago I had to send my trusty Canon T2i DSLR in for servicing. I was beginning to have a lot of issues with my autofocus, especially with my 60mm Macro lens (which also went back). So, while my camera gets service and back to me in time for the holiday (I…

Tone Deaf Photography (HDR Part II)
As I wandered through France, one of my goals for advancing my photography skills was to take a ton of HDR photos. I managed to end up taking quite a bit, and as I slowly go through the hundreds of photos from the trip, a few began to stand out. I tried to go for…

Chelsea’s and Jason’s Engagement Shoot
This past weekend, I had the pleasure of shooting my first engagement session. Chelsea and Jason, who I met through my fiancé Jules, recently got engaged and asked me to shoot some photos of them. I was stoked, and after 2 rescheduled shoots due to weather, we were finally ready to get down to business.…

Flash…Gordon?
I was recently hired by one of Jules’ friends Chelsea for an engagement shoot. Since they wanted an outdoor shoot, I finally had an excuse to buy a flash (as I need one in general- especially for this shoot). Here is a couple of sample shots that I took this weekend at a wedding in…

Light the fuse!
Even though Jules and I spent the weekend at Lake Anna, we still made sure to get back in time for the annual fireworks in Baltimore’s Inner Harbor. After some deliberating (since the weather almost didn’t hold out), we decided to make the trek back up to our friend Richard’s rooftop deck to view them. This…

My PicTrip to Sherwood Gardens
Last weekend’s great weather gave Jules and I a chance to visit the most famous tulip garden in America, Sherwood Gardens . Sherwood Gardens was created in 1920 by John Sherwood, who was a conservationist and flower fan. Located within the Baltimore City Limits, Sherwood Gardens was a quick drive from our house in Federal Hill and…

Cherry Blossom Festival 2011
Last weekend, the annual Cherry Blossom Festival kicked off in Washington, DC. I was down at the Tidal Basin to shoot my friend Liz and snapped some shots before and after our shoot. This was the first time I’ve been back to DC with my new Canon DSLR and I brought my (small) collection of…
